How It All Began

La Meli was started by an ambitious young lady baking biscotti under watchful eyes in her grandma’s kitchen. The biscotti was a triumph and within a year the flourishing business needed to hire additional staff and find a larger space to accommodate the newfound success. As demand increased it naturally led to an expanded product range, which included creating our beautiful cakes which we have always loved. Facing our challenges head-on, La Meli continues to serve its customers with the same recipes and skilful dedication to quality that first brought the company out of grandma’s kitchen.

How To Order

La Melí is a boutique cakery that specialises in delicious and beautiful sweet treats for all occasions.

Terms and Conditions:

All orders are reserved on a first come, first served basis via a 50% non-refundable deposit. Orders
are not considered booked until the deposit is received. The remaining balance is due via EFT or in cash at least two days before pick-up. If you would like to pay the balance upon collection, please discuss this with me and I will assess whether it is a
possibility. Changes to your order design need to be done at least 3 days before your order is due. Changes are
subject to my approval and may carry an additional fee. While I will always help if I can, some changes may not be possible due to time restraints. Orders placed within three days of pick up will incur a RUSH FEE of R100. Collection-only except for WEDDING CAKES and cakes larger than 3 tiers where we charge a delivery and setup fee. Once you take possession of the cake it becomes your responsibility and refunds will not be issued for any reason once it is in your possession. In the unlikely event the cake flavour is not up to scratch,
80% of the uneaten cake must be returned to me within 24hrs for inspection before I will consider a refund. It is your responsibility to ensure all amounts are paid on time. Not doing so may make your order subject to complete cancellation and any money paid will not be refunded. By placing an order, you are accepting all terms and conditions as stated here and as stated on the invoice.
